Fredericton Playhouse

686 Queen Street
Fredericton NB E3B 1C2

Located in beautiful downtown Fredericton adjacent to the provincial legislature, the Fredericton Playhouse has been providing a professional venue for the performing arts for decades.

The Playhouse was a gift from Lord and Lady Beaverbrook to the people of New Brunswick in 1964. In 2000, the facility came under the ownership and management of Fredericton Playhouse Inc. - a charitable non-profit corporation associated with the City of Fredericton.

The facility has been renovated over the years to expand technical capabilities and improve intimacy in the audience-to-performer relationship. The 709-seat auditorium is equipped with a listening assist system and wheelchair seats, and its stage is the best equipped purpose-built theatre in the Capital Region, with modern sound, lighting, video, and fly systems. The lobbies provide gallery spaces for local visual artists, and a cloak room, bar/concessions, and merchandise services are available during events along with access to the Fredericton Convention Centre and the East End Parking Garage. The box office is open daily to the public.

Today, the theatre operates as a professional performance venue available for local, national, and international artists and companies. The organization also presents touring artists as part of its own professional series and offers various other specialized programs for youth and local artists.
